Rochdale to Receive over £38,000 in Additional Government Funding to Help Keep our Borough Clean

As the Shadow Portfolio Holder for Environment, I am delighted to report that Rochdale is to receive over £38,000 in additional funding from the Government to support with cleaning up our borough.  I will be speaking to officers about this to ensure that we see our fair share of that funding in our area.

The funding is part of a £9.75 million Government fund and is intended to help local authorities to encourage people to take more pride in their local area and get involved in activities such as the Great British Spring Clean, which will be taking place in Norden and right across Rochdale this weekend (Saturday 23rd March 2019).

There are many ways that these funds could be used, and I am sure that they can have a massive impact at a local level if used correctly.  I will be keen to ensure that the funds are used wisely and that our ward, and every ward, gets a fair share of the funding.
